Driver Questioned in Ongoing Disappearance Investigation

A delivery driver briefly detained in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has been released without charges, according to authorities. Thirty-six-year-old Carlos Palazuelos was taken into custody on February 10 while making deliveries in Arizona, as investigators continue their search for the missing mother of TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie.

The case has now entered its eleventh day, with officials still urging the public to come forward with any helpful information. Police reportedly questioned Palazuelos for several hours before letting him go. He later told reporters he had no connection to the case and had never heard of Nancy or her daughter prior to being detained.

Palazuelos said he was confused by the situation and insisted he was innocent, adding that he only cooperated because he wanted to clear his name as quickly as possible. DoorDash, the company Palazuelos works for, released a statement confirming it was in contact with law enforcement and prepared to assist the investigation. The company also expressed sympathy for the Guthrie family, calling the situation deeply distressing and urging anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.

Palazuelos told police he may have delivered a package to Nancy’s home on the day she disappeared. Meanwhile, investigators confirmed that ransom notes demanding cryptocurrency payments have surfaced, though no direct threats were included. The FBI has also released new images of a masked individual appearing to tamper with a doorbell camera near Nancy’s residence, as officials continue to pursue leads and search for answers in the ongoing case.
