Search for Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Ongoing Amid Trump’s Remarks

As concern spreads across the country, Donald Trump has publicly addressed the disappearance of TODAY host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, calling the situation “terrible” and deeply troubling. Speaking during a February 3 press briefing, Trump responded to questions about the high-profile case, signaling both personal concern and federal attention as authorities work to find answers.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, has been missing since the early hours of January 3, after reportedly going to bed at her Catalina Foothills home, north of Tucson, Arizona, and never emerging. Local authorities have escalated the investigation into a criminal case, stating they believe she was taken against her will. Searches have been conducted both on the ground and from the air, and evidence discovered at the residence has raised further concerns about the circumstances of her disappearance.

When asked about the case, Trump said he planned to personally reach out to Savannah Guthrie. “I think it’s terrible,” he said, noting his long-standing positive relationship with the television host. He also pledged that federal resources would be made available to assist Arizona authorities, emphasizing the urgency of resolving what he described as an “unusual” and distressing situation.

As the investigation continues, local officials have urged the public to provide any information that could help locate Nancy, highlighting her serious health needs and need for regular medication. Savannah Guthrie, absent from the TODAY show during the initial search, later shared a message of gratitude and faith on social media, asking for continued prayers and support. For now, the family and the public remain united in hope that the investigation will yield answers—and ultimately, a safe return for Nancy Guthrie.
