The president has now extended his deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, pushing it back by 10 days to April 6 as negotiations continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post on Truth Social, Trump made it clear he\u2019s holding off on further escalation\u2014for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTalks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking later to Fox News, Trump revealed that Iran had actually asked for a shorter extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI gave them a 10-day period, they asked for seven.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the ongoing tensions, the president struck a confident tone about the broader situation, adding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
